Allow kids to have Signatures
My kids would like to be able to create & utilize an E-Mail signature.
183 votesWe have decided that this is not something that will be added in the immediate future. We will look at this for a future release, but not at this time. My apologies to those that were hoping it would be coming out right away.

Implement Safe Chat
My child does not have enough ways to interact. I suggest adding safe, chat rooms to kmail teens that can connect to gmail. This would help a lot!
169 votesAfter much consideration, we have decided that we will not be adding a chat function to Kids Email. KidsEmail chat would only work with other KidsEmail users, so children wouldn’t be able to chat with users that don’t have a kids email account. We may revisit this in the future, but for now we are not planning on adding this feature.

Make different contact lists.
My daughter has friends she e-mails that are in her girl scout troop and would like to be able to send out a mass e-mail to those in that list as she is the secretary this quarter. Would also be nice to have a family list and and a school friend/teacher list.
71 votesWe have decided that this is not a function we will be adding in the near future.
We do have it listed as a possible idea for a future release, but have decided we won’t be making the changes to Kids Email to have this function.
We appreciate you submitting this great idea, and if we meet at a later date and decide to add it we will let you know.

Allow for contacts to be grouped.
This would be very helpful as kids often have "teams" for different projects/classes.

kids need notification that they got mail to eliminate the need to always check if they have mail
It would be neat for kids to have a symbol or message stating they got new mail on there sign in page at desktop
29 votesNotifications for mail on the desktop will not be available. Notifications on the apps are up and functioning. I apologize that we have decided not to add this at this time.
Thanks,

Draft email folder
It would be great if there was an option for emails to go into a draft folder to finish at a later time or for a parent to preview before the email is sent.

Allow several emails addresses for the same contact in the contact list
The same person can use distinct email addresses (like for work, personal, etc). Having distinct entries in the contact-list is not convenient for a kid, please allow multiple email addresses for one contact. At least leave the UI as-is but allow us to enter multiple addresses separated by a comma or another delimiter
18 votesWe appreciate your feedback. We realize that this would be very helpful for some people, but have decided this is not something we are going to add at this time.

Mail aliases
It would be great to support mail aliases for those who owns domains.
I have a mail redirection like this: (I changed real names)
XXX@YYY.fr -> XXX.YYY@kidsemail.org
So my family can use XXX@YYY.fr (YYY.fr is our own domain) to talk with my daughter.
But when she reply, XXX.YYY@kidsemail.org is used where I want XXX@YYY.fr to be used.
It would be great to have a setting to handle this scenario.15 votesWe appreciate your feedback. We realize that this would be very helpful for some people, but have decided this is not something we are going to add at this time.

To welcome children a bit more
Like putting up a welcome banner when they have first joined

Look and Feel for Teens like the Parent Interface
The parent interface is much nicer then the teen interface.
14 votesWe may change this in the future, but for now this is not something we plan on making changes too – we do appreciate your feedback.

Calendar functionality
Similar to google calendar. A kid should be able to have a calendar, view/edit/etc, and accept calendar invitations via kidsemail.
13 votesWe have decided this is not something we will be adding to Kids Email at this time. It is something we may consider down the road, however at this time it will not be implemented.

Provide an option to review my child's emails before they are sent to others
I would like to be able to read and review my child's emails before they are sent out. Sometimes children do not realize that what they intend to type is not always the same as it can be read. Being able to approve or deny outgoing messages would be great. It would give parents the opportunity to have the email revised by their child if needed.

More customization for Teen emails?
My Teen would like to be able to upload his own art and/or photos to customize his email. Is that going to be an option?
11 votesWe have decided not to make this change at this time. We may revisit in the future but not now. My apologies.

We really like this idea, but this is not something that we will be adding at this time.

Allow kids to edit their passwords
Allow kids to edit their passwords. Whenever kids want to change their password, they have to ask a parent to. My idea is that you should allow kids to change their passwords, but email the parents the new one.
9 votesThis is declined for now, we may eventually add this but it will not be added to our current list of changes.

support sending emails using the iOS built in mail app.
On iOS I can use your app to send and receive emails but if I click on an email link from some other app, it will only support the default mail app. Other apps (like Pages) support sending documents via email. The problem is they only support sending using the default mail app.
I'd like to be able to configure the default mail app to send and receive emails using the kmail.org service - that is, with the filtering and protection provided by kids email.
6 votesDue to the security that we require for Kids Email, we require that kids send /receive email through the Kids Email iOS and Android apps.

Option to Email Entire Contact List
my daughter, 8, would like to be able to send regular updates to her entire contact list. your program limits the number of recipients. wouldn't this be a simple fix that would make it much easier for her to stay in touch with all of her relatives? thanks!
6 votesWe have decided not to add this function at this time. If we decide to add it at a later time we will let you know.

Streamline the Contacts
In the teen version make it so you can type in the name of one of your contacts instead of the email address.
5 votesThis is not something we will be changing at this time.

Internationalize dates
They seem to be fixed in MM-DD-YYYY format, regardless of the country specified when setting up an account.
4 votesThis is not something we will be adding at this time. As we grow more internationally we may add this in the future, but right now we will not be adding it. Thank you for your feedback.

Create an app for the Mac (desktop/laptop)
We have an iMac as a "family computer" where each child has a user account. Since we can't add the kmail accounts to their individual user's "mail" utility as a POP/IMAP account, can we at least get a mail app that also notifies them of new messages in their inbox and then opens to their account login page or inbox? I checked the Mac App Store and could not find a Kmail/Kids Email app. Thanks for all you are doing... it is a great service!
4 votesWe will not be developing an app for the Mac Desktop. Kids Email will have to be used by visiting the website or through one of our many apps.
