  1. Allow several emails addresses for the same contact in the contact list

The same person can use distinct email addresses (like for work, personal, etc). Having distinct entries in the contact-list is not convenient for a kid, please allow multiple email addresses for one contact. At least leave the UI as-is but allow us to enter multiple addresses separated by a comma or another delimiter

  3. Streamline the Contacts

In the teen version make it so you can type in the name of one of your contacts instead of the email address.

  4. Provide an option to review my child's emails before they are sent to others

I would like to be able to read and review my child's emails before they are sent out. Sometimes children do not realize that what they intend to type is not always the same as it can be read. Being able to approve or deny outgoing messages would be great. It would give parents the opportunity to have the email revised by their child if needed.

We have decided that this is not a function we will be adding in the near future.

We do have it listed as a possible idea for a future release, but have decided we won’t be making the changes to Kids Email to have this function.

We appreciate you submitting this great idea, and if we meet at a later date and decide to add it we will let you know.

    Regards,
    Brittany

  5. support custom domains

We have our own domain for the grownups - mom@family.com and dad@family.com. We'd like to get the safety of Kids Email for now but at some point the kids will be old enough to not need this service. We don't want them having to switch their email address. With other services like this we've been able to create an account on our domain (kid@family.com) and have it forward all messages to the other service. We tried this with Kids Email and it doesn't work.

The details: we use Google Apps to manage our domain. I tried setting…

This is something we have considered in the past. At this time we do not plan on implementing this. I will send the suggestion over to the Developer, and if we decide to implement this I will let you know.

    Thanks,
    Brittany

  6. Do you have a Forwarding option for when kids get older and move off kidsemail? If not could you provide one?

My oldest is involved in Civil Air Patrol and get important communications through email. At some point in the future he is going to move off on his own and have his own email. It would be nice to have a way to forward messages until he can get his email updated everywhere.

I understand the need for this, but we do not have this option and do not plan on adding it at this time. Usually when users transition off of Kids Email, they will simply e-mail all their contacts with their new details.

I understand how that would be helpful but we will not be making changes at this time.

  7. Condense contacts list without photos

If one is not putting in photos for each contact, it would be nice if the list could be condensed without the photo icons so it doesn't take pages and pages to scroll through.

  8. Mail aliases

It would be great to support mail aliases for those who owns domains.
I have a mail redirection like this: (I changed real names)
    XXX@YYY.fr -> XXX.YYY@kidsemail.org
So my family can use XXX@YYY.fr (YYY.fr is our own domain) to talk with my daughter.
But when she reply, XXX.YYY@kidsemail.org is used where I want XXX@YYY.fr to be used.
It would be great to have a setting to handle this scenario.

This isn’t something we will be changing right now, perhaps in the future. If your child doesn’t like that login page they can login at www.kmail.org

We can discuss this with the Developer and see what he thinks. Kids Email can be used on our app as well, search “Kids Email” in the app store and download on your device. The “ugly” monkey isn’t on the app :)

  14. give option to receive a digest of email activity (instead of ccing every single email)

I suggest the parent be able to request automatic email of periodic digests with selectable interval AND/OR ad hoc digests on the website (or app) that show all activity since the last request for ad hoc digest. Digests would be most useful if the were processed using keyword search to push items with questionable content to the top of the list. Ad hoc digest requests should also be presented in an interface that allows for resorting by different criteria (date, size, sender, etc)

  15. Allow better attachment options in app, i.e. short video or audio clip

Tocomail allows kids to add a 10 sec video clip or an audio clip. Would this be possible to add to the app? Kids love independence and would like to be able to do these things from their tablets.

We have decided that this is not something that will be added in the immediate future. We will look at this for a future release, but not at this time. My apologies to those that were hoping it would be coming out right away.

  17. More customization for Teen emails?

My Teen would like to be able to upload his own art and/or photos to customize his email. Is that going to be an option?

  18. Add feature for parents to approve OUTGOING emails from younger children before they go out

Add a safety feature for younger children whereby their OUTGOING email is sent to the parent for approval before it can go out. Right now my young one is sending a lot of jibberish to family members which could get annoying. I would like the ability to approve or delete message before they go out.

  19. Add POP3 Mail Server Support

It has been tabled previously with many positive votes. Why does my child need ANOTHER device or App to be alerted they have mail. So many existing mail programs out there. What is the backend support issue that kidsemail.org cannot overcome?

  20. Allow kids to edit their passwords

Allow kids to edit their passwords. Whenever kids want to change their password, they have to ask a parent to. My idea is that you should allow kids to change their passwords, but email the parents the new one.
